Limit Poker on PokerStars

I have been playing low stakes $2/$4 limit poker for the past few days. Not sure why I have been playing limit verse no limit. I feel I am a much better no limit player. My weakest poker skills are in tournaments play, not sure why I just can't seem to get any better. I do play in the home league, which is tournament style, and I have been doing good but maybe I'm just getting lucky. I am not a fan of online poker but since that's really my only option I do it as a means of practice and evolving my game.

I think I need to pick one; limit, no limit, tournament, and focus only on that style until I master it, which we all know we never really master it as it's always evolving as new young guns come into the game.

I think I am going to stick to limit poker online for awhile and see how I do. If I can get positive numbers on a regular basis, I will be happy.

Bob's Bellagio

Played at a home game tonight...Bob's Bellagio Poker Room. Bob is a nice guy, he appears to love his Vodka Martini's... Olive and onion included.

In attendance were 10 players...five college frat boys, three older gentlemen, one 30 something guy (God I hope he is 30 something, if not sorry) and the token female... a.k.a. Me.

Bob runs a good game, good tournament structure, good people. I was pretty card dead tonight, played a few hands, I know every time I was in a pot I was behind but after only playing one hand per hour at that point I could raise it with 7 Deuce off suit and take down the blinds and antes.

Two hands to tell you about, both mistakes. In position, player UTG raises twice the big blind, I haven't had a decent hand in hours, I look down have big slick suited... I think for awhile... I have the big blind behind me still to act... I call which was the mistake. I should have pushed all in but didn't, big blind also calls. Flop Q blank blank. Big blind checks, UTG player raises all in. At this point I still have BB to act behind me.... I fold... That was the right move at that point, the mistake was the just calling pre-flop, I should have pushed pre-flop or folded. UTG player had ace queen.

Last hand of the night, early position... I raise all in with 5 / 3 suited clubs... 2 callers, one with pocket Queens to win it and knock me and the 30 something guy out.

2010 WSOP Main Event Home League Update

Tonight was Event #3... good game... every one shows... glad.

OK, are you as bored as I am???

The cards... DEAD.

On one hand, glad to see others win, on the other hand, of course,I hate to lose. It's poker, it's a gamble. We have a great group.

Twin brothers... (they actually play against each other)... solid players

Villain #1... I was going to call him the hat man but he didn't wear a hat tonight. Every other event he named himself the "hat guy" because he always wears a hat... yeah right.. bluffer if you ask me.

Villain #2... solid player of the group... good player... tournament player... I would love to get him in a cash game.

Villain #3... wild card.

A few ladies at the table... good.

Stay tune it's all good... someone will play / win a bracket and represent Middle TN for the WSOP. I hope it's me... probably not... but what the hell.... we all have a dream right???
